Blackpool - 'The Entertainment Capital of Europe' (with over 16.5 million visitors per year)
With its long sandy beaches and a wealth of entertainment and attractions to suit all ages, Blackpool makes an ideal resort for those wishing to take a one-night, weekend, mid-week or full-week break.

The Promenade incorporates three Victorian Piers and a vast array of attractions to suit individual tastes - while the Tower - which dominates the world-famous Golden Mile of Blackpool's Promenade - stands 518 feet high and offers ballroom dancing, a circus, children's soft-play area, undersea world, dinosaur ride, cafes and the Walk of Faith: a clear reinforced glass floor which gives (those who dare to tread) a 320 feet (down) view!

For those who enjoy the 'thrill of the fair' Blackpool's Pleasure Beach boasts more than 145 rides - including attractions and shows. And for those wishing to splash about or relax on a sun lounger away from the sandy beach, The Sandcastle Leisure Pool offers a constant 84 degrees (f) with giant water slides, lagoons and saunas.

If you enjoy the Theatre or Live entertainment, then Blackpool has a variety of entertainment centres hosting such as Ice Shows, Illusion Shows, Ballet, and Classic performances. Live entertainment shows can be found at numerous venues including Theatre Halls and Public Houses.

From early September to early November, why not take a tram-ride, horse-drawn carriage (or leisurely stroll) along a six mile stretch of the Promenade when the world-famous Illuminations come to life.

So if your stay at Blackpool, however long - or short, is to enjoy a show, experience thrilling rides; marvel at the Illuminations, sample the inexhaustive night-life or simply to take time out and relax, then the Alma Park is ideally situated.
